Beauty and the Beast.

Ok.. So my theme for my final collection for my graduation is Beauty and the beast.

Well I was thinking and moving out of options I have to put together for this theme in terms of fashion. Whether putting beauty vs beast or beauty with beast or using textiles to denote beast and silhouette as beauty or vice verse. 

I ending up looking at this .. as my mentor helped me out and we both agree of denoting fur as beast and feminine silhouette as beauty... 

So.. what do you think about adding fur... in your wardrobe... It can be in a Jacket, or a dress... or may be a fur coat.....or you suggest... .. Yea not the real one.. though... 

Isn't it old?... or its to much in the market?... As am thinking of working with it... so I wouldn't mind any kind of suggestions....

I keep thinking of flying high and Diving in the sea at the same time. Well in a way both are the same when you don't want to stay on the ground any more. I want to live an extra ordinary life in a simple way. I know it sounds confusing and it might sound like even I don't know know what am trying to say, but I know what I want. I want My life, every moment of my life to be like a struggle and I end up winning always. Through my hidden powers. Everybody has many, Its just you have to believe in yourself... saying I can do it... Its not cheese cake though, But I would fight For it, with it and Win. 

I wish to inspire many to fly and reach the sky or the coral reef down the sea so that we make this an Enchanted place.

Our dreams, Our ambitions and Our goal wont just stay as it is. They will happen for Real.. (:

Going Retro....

A Nostalgic Impression

When going retro we always think of hippies, disco or bell bottoms, The pop culture rules our minds many times. I thought of why not revisiting the old times with old means of communication and entertainment. Articles which started disappearing after the retro times.. Can say after 80's....  In 90's they became slow, old and boring, In 20's they finally said good bye. 

As I was working for Wills life style debut competition and the given theme was Retro revolution. What if I bring back the retro with good things gone and would never come back through fashion. As the theme says, trace the path again and immortalize with today's fashion, why not use our past objects as our inspiration?

Art of letter writing though Inland letters and putting over a 25 Paisa stamp. Radio our prime entertainment source, we used to visualize and listen. We used to have old TV with knobs; which had no remote, with antenna's behind it. These articles made us more creative , up and doing in the late back times. We used to spend our past time creating value more as we used to rely on us (human's) not on man made machines. So lets set up a trend saying we are retro... we love writing letters again with emotions and waiting for the reply with anticipation, we love dialing phone from the dial phones, we enjoy watching TV which has knobs as I have to move more often to change channels, Would Drive my bicycle more often than my car to increase my activity. 

Now the main question is how will I all bring this back through Fashion.... ?

We will reach out to the unreachable and fly high. Today we will live out each moment. Just because we are happy and some times happiness comes from within. 

Inspiration - Modern Expressionism.

As we see online culture growing on people. The digitalisation, the futuristic gadgets our ruling us, what used to be in cartoons in past is there in our present.

So what about fashion?

This evolving impact of online culture on design is mirrored in pixelated minimalism, synthetic effects and beautifully twisted concepts of NDA. Using this further I connect the concept of NDA with my concept which says “everything eventually connects (taken from movie Avatar)”. Life- death, usual – unusual, happening – non happening or real- unreal etc will connect aesthetically.My aim would be to design an exquisite resort wear with the prints developed by me. As my inspiration says Modern Expressionism. This is a combination of two great art movements called modernism and expressionism.

My objective would be to photograph and use my computer skills in developing a modern expressionist print.  I would avoid repetition of a print, instead I would use placement prints as my way out. This is to create story on the garment through prints and giving importance to the silhouette as well.  I would like to use translucent fabrics concentrating on women of age group 19 – 30.

A sharp preppy approach to lo-fi digital ideas, clean curvy lines, inlaid twisted constructions, composite colour arrangements in stark contrast to dream like blurred sheets. Sartorial quirks merged way to disrupt high fashion looks. Digital stories with fantasies will drive n unreal, cartoon like direction of playful prints and styling.

Different Prints
